Good Neighbor Definition Essay Ideas

Definition Essay A good neighbor is someone who respects other people and helps them if necessary. In my opinion, good neighbors are rare and some people do not even know who their neighbors are. First of all, a good neighbor is not noisy and they do not ask you personal questions. In addition, they do not make a lot of noise when you want to relax or sleep. Of course, they should invite you to a party because good neighbors are also friendly. You should be able to pop in and chat to your neighbor and have a cup of tea together.

Good neighbors are also willing to help you if you need them. In other words a good neighbor shows kindness or helpfulness to ward his or her fellow humans: to be a good neighbor to some one in distress. There are some qualities of good neighbor. The first quality of good neighbor is helpfulness. Helpfulness is the best characteristic of a good neighbor. Because whenever bad things happen to me, only my relatives or my close neighbors maybe help me to overcome the problems. However, my relatives may be far from me so my good neighbors can provide the immediate help.

In the same way, a good neighbor who likes to help others will get help in return. So help each others can form a friendly and harmonious relationship among the good neighbors. For example, I have good neighbor, whose name is Charles, last year I got sick . At the time I didn’t have any stand by relative, but my good neighbor Charles calls emergency and took me a hospital. Therefore, helpfulness is the best identification of good neighbor. The second quality of good neighbor is being very reliable. I can trust my good neighbor only if he or she is reliable person.

That makes me feel safe to associate with him/her. Imaging that if my neighbor is not reliable, I will feel good about having my neighbor look after my baby even though he or she offers to do so. Do I dare to leave my door key to my neighbor whenever I go out for my holiday? Obviously, reliability is not only builds the good neighbor but also is the quality of good person. And it is the foundation of a good relationship. For example, my sister always left her door key to her good neighbor Jessica, when she ants to go somewhere.

There fore, a good neighbor is trustworthy and sensible enough to not leak out ones family secret. The third quality of good neighbor is being friendly. A good neighbor is someone who is nice and approachable. No one says you have to be best friends with the person across the hall, but you should at least be able to smile and say hello to the person and receive some sort of friendly response, as opposed to a glare or simply being ignored. A friendly neighbor is nearly impossible to frame as a lier.

If you are scum and receive a friendly neighbor greeting, you probably are not served by lying and saying you didn’t get it. For example, Mike is my friendly neighbor; we always after school and after work met and talk about daily hot issues like football news politics and others. Having a friendly neighbor is used to have fun and enjoy. In conclusion, reliability, helpfulness and friendly are three main qualities of a good neighbor. Because reliability develops the good relationship, helpfulness keeps the relationship remaining for a long time, and friendly helps to share ideas frankly and enjoy together.

You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your neighbors. If you are lucky, you have good neighbors. But some neighbors are not pleasant and can make your life miserable at times. If you have good neighbors, consider yourself blessed. Neighbors can play an important role in our community and our lives, and remember, you are a neighbor too.

What's a good neighbor?

By definition a neighbor is someone who lives close by you, but "close" is a relative term. For the citydweller, the neighbor is probably someone in the next apartment, but for the urban family, the neighbor is a bit further away. And for those who live out in rural areas, the neighbor may live a mile or two away. But what's a good neighbor? A good neighbor is friendly and considerate. Though good neighbors may live close, they respect your space and privacy. Good neighbors wave at you, may stop to pet your dog and chat, and buy lemonade from your children. Good neighbors take time to talk and smile. They reach out to connect to you.

Good neighbors' actions support community. A good neighbor looks out for others. This idea is illustrated in communities throughout the United States who have developed neighborhood watches. To deter crime and violence neighborhood watches comprised of people who are good neighbors have developed. Their goal is to keep watch on each other's homes so if a burglar is prowling about, or suspicious people are casing out someone's home, a watchful neighbor calls the proper authorities to investigate the situation.

Good neighbors help each other. For example, in my community we sometimes get heavy snowfall. When this happens, younger people in the community go out and shovel for people who are older or who have medical problems that prevent them from shoveling. Also, people help each other when cars get stuck, a common occurrence during the winter months.

Most importantly, good neighbors are respectful. They consider the others who live around them. They avoid keeping others awake with loud parties and barking dogs. They mow their lawns and maintain their property. Thet try to keep their kids to be respectful too.

The Importance of good neighbors.

Good neighbors are important. Hillary Clinton said,"It takes a village to raise a child." Our neighbors are our village. My son knows our neighbors, and I'm glad for that. I'm lucky enough to live in an area where I have good neighbors. My son has had the opportunity to learn from the older gentlemen in the neighborhood, and being exposed to these older men has enriched his life. And they in turn have gotten a lot of joy from associating with my son. My son has also played with and done activities with others in the neighborhood, and through neighbors, he's come to appreciate the idea that we have something in common with everyone. Perhaps sometimes we should focus on our similarities, and not our differences.

Ask yourself, "Am I a good neighbor?" Remember you get what you give. Try to be a good neighbor.
